Glen Cove, NY
I went to the Glen Cove Mansion for a getaway with my sweety. It was gorgeous, yet the rooms felt corporate. The Mansion did have its old eccentricities though, i.e. the tiny windows with cast iron terraces, courtyards and gardens with fountains. In 1910 it was called The Manor. Basically a home for one family used as an escape from city life. I guess a similar reason for my visit, but it wasn't my 12 room home:)
I was there in early February which is off season for a beach town; obviously eerie and desolate. Yet the Manor/ Mansion and its surroundings, even in the warmest of months, had secrets. I knew this and felt the strange "hauntedness" of it all. So, I took pictures to remember the feeling.
